Research Panel for Media Law

This Research Panel is headed by Professor Jan Rosén, Stockholm University.

The Panel is currently working on the following projects:

The Panel is currently exploring the possibilities for a research project code-named “Media law and the EU – what adjustments are required and which ones are acceptable?” The purpose of the project is to illuminate the harmonisation problems raised by Sweden’s legislation on press freedom and freedom of expression, both specifically and as a more universal issueaffecting the whole of the Swedish legal system. Here the Panel is endeavouring to establish co-operation with the Ministry of Justice.

A pilot study concerning changes in the content of the daily press has been initiated within the Panel. Newspapers from 1957, 1967, 1977, 1987, 1997 and 2007 will be studied in order to compile input data for comparison.
