Funding
The Centre’s general activities have been funded by grants from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation, the Torsten and Ragnar Söderberg Foundations and the Skandia Centennial Foundation. General activities for the period 2005/2006-2009/2010 will be funded mainly by grants from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation.
The Vice-Chancellor regards the Centre’s activities as a University profile area, and has allotted the Centre new facilities adjoining the University Library. For the time being these will be funded out of the University’s central funding allocation. The Centre is expected to take possession of its new premises at the end of 2006.
The Torsten and Ragnar Söderberg Foundations recently awarded funding for three post-doc research appointments at the Centre.
In 2002 the Centre received a donation from LO-Media AB which made possible the establishment of a 20 per cent adjunct professorship in Media Law at the Centre for a three-year period. The appointment is held by Adjunct Professor Hans-Gunnar Axberger.
For special purposes, such as book purchases, printing and meetings, the Centre receives, on application, supplementary grants from the Law Faculty Literature Foundation and the Justice Edvard Cassel Foundation, among other sources.
